DESCRIPTION:The Congressional Forum is a 53 year institution\, and the Chamber's public policy series\, which features local\, state\, and federal representatives to speak about issues relevant to the area's business community.\n\n\n\nRepresentative Sharice Davids speaks to the group as often as she can\, but other guest speakers are often featured at the monthly forums. \n\n\n\nThis month's featured speaker is Alan Carr\, Executive Director of Visit Kansas City\, Kansas. On the heels of national media coverage\, with Kansas City\, Kansas being touted as the Taco Capital of the United States by Forbes Magazine\, the KCK Chamber is excited to hear an update on all things "Visit KCK." From the Taco Trail to the KC Monarchs and everything in between\, we hope to see you this month for an update on tourism in our city!\n\n\n\nAbout Alan Carr:\n\nAlan Carr has spent his career in destination marketing. In October 2019\, he became executive director at Visit Kansas City Kansas where they are working to expand neighborhood promotion through a series of cultural trails including the recently launched KCK Taco Trail. Carr spent 10 years at Visit KC\, where he served as vice president of marketing & communications. During that time\, he and his team oversaw development of the Visit KC brand\, Kansas City Restaurant Week and the reopening of the Kansas City Film Office. In 2015\, he started Carr Strategies where he worked with more than a dozen destinations across Missouri and Kansas on tourism marketing strategies\, branding and marketing campaigns.\n\n\nThank you 2021 Sponsors!
