About the Monarchs
The Kansas City Monarchs are a member of the American Association, which is now a Partner League of Major League Baseball.  The Monarchs (previously the TBones) began playing in Kansas City, Kansas in 2003. The team rebranded in January of 2021 and received national attention including ESPN.
The Monarchs entertain and promote baseball in the Kansas City regional community by fielding a winning professional baseball team and a guest first organization. The Monarchs strive to provide an Entrance to Exit first class guest experience for our fans at every opportunity, with exceptional associates who thrive in a collaborative workplace that is fun, challenging and rewarding!
Kansas City NWSL, one of two new franchises in the league, has returned to the City of Fountains.  The tail of women's soccer in Kansas City is long and storied. This franchise is the latest venture in Kansas City for NWSL, with the former FC Kansas City organization moving to Utah back in 2017.

The new KC NWSL ownership group led by Angie and Chris Long of Palmer Square Capital Management entered the picture to bring the Utah Royals player assets to a new expansion team in Kansas City. Due to the tight timeline ahead of the season, the team will operate under the KC NWSL moniker for their inaugural season.  The Club will play their matches at Legends Field in Kansas City, Kansas.

Preseason runs through April as teams prepare for the Challenge Cup which will kick off late in the month with the regular NWSL season begins in mid-May.
